About Luca
Hi, I’m Luca, a professional Tourist Guide and Tour Leader born and raised in Catania, Sicily.
Tourism has been part of my life for many years, both professionally and personally. What I love most is helping people understand a destination beyond its famous landmarks: its history, traditions, local identity, religious heritage and the small details that often go unnoticed.
Living in Sicily gives me a strong connection with the island and especially with Eastern Sicily. I know Catania not only as a destination, but as my home — its neighbourhoods, traditions, markets, churches, stories and its unique relationship with Mount Etna.
I particularly enjoy helping curious travellers who love history, art, culture, sacred heritage and authentic local life, and who prefer discovering a place at a thoughtful pace rather than simply ticking attractions off a list.
What I can provide
My main area of expertise is Sicily, particularly Catania and Eastern Sicily, including Syracuse, Ortigia, Taormina and the surrounding area.
I can help travellers understand what is really worth seeing, how to organise their time, which areas work best together and how to experience Sicily beyond the most obvious tourist routes. I can also share practical local advice on transportation, neighbourhoods, restaurants, traditional food, cultural sites and day trips.
My strongest interests are history, art and architecture, local traditions, religious and sacred heritage, archaeology and Sicilian culture. I especially enjoy explaining the stories behind places, why a church, street, market, celebration or local custom matters to the people who live here.
I can also help with cultural itineraries around Italy and selected European destinations, particularly Germany and Romania, drawing on both my professional experience in tourism and my personal travels.
